Jo has been able to bring relief to thousands of patients, in the areas of injury rehabilitation, mobility, muscle ailments and general fitness and health. Her busy physiotherapy practice incorporates gym and indoor pool to further promote full rehabilitation for injured clients.
In addition she trained as an acupuncturist at Otago University in 2005 and has further training in Manaka, a Japanese style of acupuncture, and has been able to add this to her treatment regime over the last 8 years, bringing even better results and relief for many.
Her early involvement in hospitals and volunteer experience in Zimbabwe working closely with plastic surgeons to provide treatment and support for burn victims and the prevention of dysfunctional scarring has led to her desire to further her interest and education in improving the outcomes for people with facial/body scaring and disfigurement.
Most recently Jo was invited to further her training in facial acupuncture in the USA. She is presently completing the Gold Standard Facial Acupuncture certification programme and is among just 25 people in the world. She has been studying with world renowned, Mary Elizabeth Wakefield, L.Ac.,M.S.,M.M. a facial acupuncture author and AAAOM Educator of the Year. This practice is highly sought after as a completely natural alternative to surgery and other interventions.
Jo will be the first acupuncturist to complete this course in New Zealand.
